“Helen’s retreat house comes with a warm welcome, light, open spaces, great views, wonderful walks and unobtrusive hosting. Spiritually held and practically focused – this is an ideal place for a retreat”. Ian M.

Hillside Retreat is, as its name suggests, set up high with beautiful, relaxing views across the valley. Being on a hillside also gives the feel of a lot of sky with some amazing sunsets. Behind the house it is a short walk to the top of the hill which is the site of an ancient iron age hill fort. The remains of the boundary wall provides a spectacular circular walk with 360 degree view of the Welsh mountains, the sea, the Dee estuary, and over to the Wirral and Liverpool. There are endless walks nearby with Offa’s Dyke and the Clwydian Way only a few miles away.

We are less than 4 miles from the county town of Mold with its twice weekly street market, farmers market and the well renowned Theatre Clwyd. We are 30 minutes by car to historic Chester.

If you are drawn to the sea then we are 25 minutes from Prestatyn beach and 40 minutes from

Prestatyn Beach
